At Bay
Hanging Grass/kelp 30' x 60'
For years I have been wandering around the marshes and beaches of Humboldt Bay. When a call for art about the environment came from Humboldt State University’s First Street Gallery, my response was immediate and precise. I proceeded to make paper to represent grasses and kelp. Strips of this paper were hung from the twelve-foot ceiling. Other elements are interpretations of mud blobs, flat marshy areas, and tall grasses.
